ANBI disclosure

Stichting De Gelukkige Klas has applied for ANBI status (Dutch tax-deductible charity status — algemeen nut beogende instelling) with the Belastingdienst. On this page we publish all the information we'll be required to disclose as an ANBI (in accordance with article 1a of the Implementation Regulation under the General State Taxes Act 1994).

Status of the application. application pending

The ANBI application will be filed by our secretary immediately after this website goes live. The application will be filed retroactively, going back to the date of incorporation (29 April 2026). The processing time at the Belastingdienst is eight to twelve weeks, but approval isn't automatic. Until there is a final decision, donations do not carry a tax benefit. If status is granted retroactively, donations you made in the run-up period become deductible after all.

The foundation has no profit motive.

Outline of the policy plan

The foundation raises money through voluntary parent contributions and periodic donations to support the educational programme at the Theo Thijssenschool. Income is spent on:

  1. Keeping visual arts (bevo) taught by a specialist teacher
  2. Keeping gym for kindergartners taught by a specialist teacher
  3. The cultural programme (museum visits, guest teachers, project weeks)
  4. Additional enrichment if sufficient funds are available

The foundation operates unpaid, with minimal operating costs.

The board consists of three people, all parent or guardian of a pupil at the Theo Thijssenschool. None of the board members works at the school or at the OADA umbrella organisation. Hieke and Tessa are not related to one another.

Remuneration policy

Board members receive no remuneration for their work. Expenses incurred can be reimbursed on the basis of declarations, provided they are reasonable and substantiated. The foundation has no employees. Work is carried out by volunteers and, for specific tasks, by independent professionals on an assignment basis.

On dissolution

Should the foundation be dissolved, any positive liquidation balance will be spent on another ANBI with a similar objective, preferably an organisation that supports education in Amsterdam (article 12 of the articles of association).
